The 3rd Annual “Wasshoi Koedo Matsuri” Summer Festival

Japanese Student Network (JSN) is hosting the third annual “Wasshoi Koedo Matsuri” summer festival to be held on Saturday August 25, 2007.  It is going to take place at Weller Court in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.  Last year, we had over 5,000 visitors in two days.

This year we will be having on stage performances of taiko drums and DJ directed singing and dancing, Japanese traditional “Awa” dancing, a paired eating contest and choose a Mister and Miss Yukata (Japanese traditional summer wear).  We are trying to incorporate traditional and current Japanese culture for all ages to enjoy.

For our food booths, there will be okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza), takoyaki (octopus dumplings), corn barbeque, barbeque chicken, shaved ice and cotton candy.

This year, we are having many college students participate in the festival so please come and enjoy JSN’s “Wasshoi Koedo Matsuri.”

On a side note, we will be handing out gifts to those who come in a yukata!

JSN Japanese students Network, http://www.jsnla.org/) is a student organized, non-profit organization operating in Los Angeles, California seeking a more active Japanese society in the United States.
