Natural Products Expo West is Held
-Boasts of being the largest natural and health food products exhibition in the world-
Celebrating its 28t time this year, the “Natural Products Expo West” was held for three days March 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
“Natural Products Expo West” was first held in Anaheim in 1981, and today it has expanded to locales such as Washington D.C., Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Japan.
The number of exhibits at the Anaheim Convention Center this year was 2,800 and attendance was approximately 50,000 people. Throughout the period of the exhibition, attendance was counted by scanning the barcode on the nametags and this pretty accurately reflected the number in attendance. However, the 50,000 at this Expo West is not the so-called “total number” that is usual for the event, but is a scan of the nametags of the people who actually registered. In other words, while it’s only an estimate, I presume that the total attendance for the three days of the exhibition would reach as much as 120,000 - 150,000.
In any case, the exhibition can boast of firmly establishing its position as the world’s largest natural and health food products show, and each year many buyers and researchers visit from every region of the world. Just as one would expect, the venue of the world’s largest health-related business show is huge. No matter how much it is described as “enormous,” and “the world’s largest,” you may not be able to imagine the actual size, and as soon as you enter the building, you are overwhelmed by the number of exhibitors and the vastness of the venue. Even if you make a serious attempt to see everything, you probably wouldn’t be able to cover the entire show in three days.
Not only are there health food products available at the show, but there are also natural food products and organic-related products, cosmetics and skin care items, as well as health-related materials and manufactured products. There are also businesses that have gathered from Europe, Asia, and within America to offer new products and new business opportunities.
This year, there were a lot of Japanese food products, and many Japanese producers of natural food products also exhibited. In addition to being introduced to new products and soy-based products such as soy milk that are now in the limelight in America, participants busily went around to the many different booths at the free sample area to try various foods and beverages.
Moreover, the participants were able to ask questions they can’t normally ask at the store, and they listened intently to answers from the product developers as they eagerly explained things.
