An Evening of Imperial Culture   11/2006

Coinciding with the world premier of the outstanding and critically acclaimed documentary film "Hannari: Geisha Modern", Y & J Productions has brought together for the first time ever in one grand evening, elements of traditional Japanese art, music, song, dance and cuisine into a single "Evening of Imperial Culture" -- an experience designed to stimulate all of the senses and provide an amazing night of entertainment assembled from the most exotic and expressive elements of the true Japan.

Our exotic Kyoto Geisha (Makoto from Gion) will be performing traditional Nihon-buyo (classical dance) and songs. Priceless genuine Imperial Kimono are being flown in from one of Kyoto's most famous kimono manufacturers for display and photography during the event.

Our Evening's musical entertainment includes three very unique individuals (Takashi Asamoto, Yukari Black, and Takumi Kato) who will be performing several Taiko (percussion), Shinobue (Japanese flute), Koto (stringed

instrument) and outstanding vocal compositions including both traditional and original works especially arranged for this event. Also featured will be Gazan Watanabe, performing Shakuhachi (wood flute), known for several popular jazz and pop albums in Japan and performing around the world, including the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC.

Sake tasting selections hosted by Mutual Trading Company will include special Jizake from Hyogo and Nigata such as, Shirakabe-gura, Nambu-bijin, Kikusui and Hakkaisan and many more contemporary special sake pairings with expert tasting guidance and education by attending industry experts.

Many unique and flavorful traditional teas will also be presented, compliments of Den's Tea, and Sapporo Brewing Co. will be providing their best Draft products for tasting and comparing throughout the Evening.

This will prove to be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many people to experience all of the finest examples of traditional and authentic Japanese culture, cuisine and entertainment, in a single convenient location, during one very special evening in luxurious Beverly Hills.

The "Evening of Imperial Culture" will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2006 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Le Meridien Hotel - Garden Room , 465 S. La Cienega Blvd, Beverly Hills 90048.
