POLA KIREI in Santa Monica
Immediately following the opening of its first shop in Beverly Hills, POLA KIREI opened a second location in Santa Monica on November 17. This is not just a place where they sell make-up. POLA KIREI provides extensive skincare advice and can answer various questions. In order to provide customers with high-class service, the staff undergoes rigorous training and all are top-notch consultants. In fact, in an effort to have qualified staff, only those who complete a period of three months of intensive practical skills training and pass a written examination can become professional staff. Therefore, no matter which staff member you approach, they are brimming with confidence.
Well, on this visit I experienced something called the Signature Facial. At POLA KIREI, there are three types of facial massages (The POLA Classic Facial - 70 min/$105; The POLA KIREI Signature Facial - 90 min/$135; Kan-Zen - ‘The Perfect Face’ - 120 min/ $165), and before the POLA KIREI and Kan-Zen massages, customers receive skin counseling to customize the massage to their skin. The person who gave me the facial this time was Nicole Sanders.
The first thing to do is to receive counseling. At this stage they take pictures of the skin by actually removing a piece of the surface of the skin, and they examine its protection ability and hydration ability. They are also able to see the possibility of decreasing things like blemishes and wrinkles. And within the comprehensive results from the counseling, there is something called a skin score. Out of a possible one hundred points, one’s own skin score is revealed. After you finish the skin counseling, you choose the aroma oil for massage time, and head for the massage room. The room is bright and soothing music is playing so that customers can relax. First, in order to improve the blood flow, the treatment begins with a hand and foot massage. And from this time on, one begins to forget things like the stress that builds up every day, and there is a feeling as if one is in heaven. Next come the make-up cleansing and a foaming face wash. True to its name, the foaming face wash entails applying only foam to the face, but it is not just a way to stimulate the face. According to Nicole, this is the correct way to wash the face.
After all of the make-up is removed and the skin becomes clean, it is time for the Décolleté massage, a massage using a special machine. It polishes the skin by improving the flow of the lymphatic system. After the Décolleté massage comes the facial massage. From the counseling came the conclusion that my skin is sensitive, so the facial massage is performed only by hand without using the machine. After that, the facial mask is applied. The staff chooses a facial mask for the client depending on the condition of one’s skin. After waiting about fifteen minutes for it to harden, it is removed; and when the head massage is completed, the entire course comes to an end. Including the counseling, the whole experience took just under two hours time, but it seemed like it was over in an instant.
When I changed clothes and left the room, Nicole brought me a set of cleansing cream, face washing cream, toner and milky lotion that matched my skin. Lastly, she gave me the report on the counseling results, I received advice for not only the exterior of the skin, but also on how to beautify it from the interior as well. The dietary advice I received about things like nutrients was very beneficial. One does not get the sense that this is merely a beauty treatment salon where one goes to feel good. It’s probably more accurate to say that POLA KIREI is a place that serves as a comprehensive advisor for all aspects regarding healthy skin.
